US based blogger Mange Kimambi has advised comedian Erick Omondi about his agenda of changing Kenyan music . She urges him to cease his planned weekly theatrics in pushing Kenyan Parliament to pass laws in support of playing 75% of Kenyan content. This comes after the comedian was arrested with police outside parliament buildings and later released.
According to Mange,playing 75% of local content won’t play a big role. Instead, the comedian should push for payment to artists regardless of where they come from. This will stabilize their mental strength and do more content. It sad to see artists from other regions flocking into East Africa countries and pocket heavily with numerous shows.
Erick Omondi accuses Kenyan media stations especially radio host and presenters of brain washing Kenyans with foreign music. Implying that Nigerian Afrobeat,Tanzanian Bongo and South African amapiano music is better.
