Kennedy Matibya Masanja, Popularly known as Kenny Guitar is a Tanzanian guitarist, singer, and music educator born in Dar es Salaam in 1990 who launched his solo career with the debut singles NIMENAWA MIKONO , followed by TUMEJIPATA, ZAINA , MARIANNA, and now he’s back with AJUE.
Kennedy continues to inspire with his evolving sound and dedication to music.
He began his music career in 2011 in Morogoro, playing in bands like Warugulu Original, before moving back to Dar es Salaam to pursue greater opportunities.
He gained national recognition in 2018 after performing at the Fiesta Festival, which led to collaborations with major artists like Alikiba, Diamond Platnumz, Ommy Dimpoz, Jux, Nandy, Zuchu, and Sho Madjozi. His guitar work features on many East African hits.
Passionate about teaching, Kennedy founded the Kenny Guitar Academy, offering lessons both in-person and online. He also spent over seven years performing at high-end venues in Zanzibar alongside artist Malfred.
